(Yarta) Mostafa Heravi, 20 December 1974 Mashhad, Iran. Born in an artistic family. His father was a good calligrapher. From an early age he got influenced by this creative environment and started to work with various media himself, such as paint and photography. Main sources of inspiration proved to be nature, spirituality and social issues. These themes can still be found in his current work. In 2000 he decided to exchange Iran for another place on this planet to expand his artistic freedom. From this moment on he started to discover new media like video and film. In 2007 he graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. He currently lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
